The draw for the competition was made by the star of Zulu Dawn, Anna Calder-Marshall on 22nd January. The required answer to the competition was Col. Sir Henry Evelyn Wood VC (although the name 'Wood' would have sufficed). On the competition book's 24th page Wood was the only VC mentioned and the relevant map indicated his abandonment of his men at Hlobane. There were 7 correct answers out of over 50 returned.
First prize of the gold sovereign went to our longest standing member,Sandy Morrison, 2nd and 3rd prizes of the Askew pencil sketches go tomembers Keith Rigden and Cliff Holman.
Thank you to everyone who entered the competition, which was run to help the community at Rorke's Drift.
